It’s been a while, we know . . .
As you know, I’ve been working on a series called Allure of the Vixen, a hotwife story told from the points of view of the different characters. The response to the first two books, The Husband and The Lover, has been incredible (thank you!) and I have just finished The Bull. This was originally planned to be the next release, followed by The Wife, which would tie together all of Joanne’s (and Phillip’s) story. As I was working on The Wife, it became obvious that the origins of Joanne’s story just needed to be told. I had originally planned to do this as a flashback in The Wife, but I’ve never been a fan of flashbacks, and there was just too much of her story that needed to be shown to make the later books realistic. And Joanne turned out to be such an amazing woman—so sensual, so sexy, so absolutely sure of what she wanted—how she got this way simply begged to be explained. Especially since she ends up making such a profound change in her life once she meets Phillip. So I’m making a change to the release schedule. I have split Joanne’s story into two parts. The first, which takes place before she meets Phillip, is to be called The Vixen. The later story will still be The Wife. In retrospect, I should have released The Vixen first . . . but as I’ve mentioned before, it still wasn’t clear to me how this would all turn out, and how readers would respond to the different points of view. I’m so touched and flattered by all the comments I’ve received, and your support has given me the incentive to complete the fuller series. So I’ll hold off on releasing The Bull until The Vixen is ready and released. They’ll come out pretty close together, and my hope is that I’ll get The Wife out soon thereafter. (I’ll post a sneak peak of the covers soon). On another note: You may have noticed that many of your favorite authors (in this genre and others) have not had many releases in 2019. The reason is that Amazon made another change to its search algorithm around February, which dramatically cut into author sales. Many authors have left the Amazon Kindle Unlimited program because of this. I’ve stayed, since I know many readers get their books via KU to save money. But I also was hit hard with the Amazon change (many indie authors had their earnings cut in half). I won’t bore you with the details, but things appear to be slowly returning to a (new) normal. To make ends meet, many of us also took on other projects, such as ghostwriting (which I have always done) and editing. (Ghostwriting is writing a book for another author to be sold under the other author’s name. I began my writing career this way, ghostwriting a number of books in contemporary romance and other genres). Other projects: Blaise Quin and I continue to work together. We have made some progress on a third book in the Satisfying Her Needs series, which will delve a little more into Andie’s exploration of her emerging understanding of what excites her. Blaise will likely take the lead on that one. Similarly, I’ve long wanted to do a follow up to Discovering Her Needs, which would be in some ways a more ‘traditional’ hotwife relationship, although, as in all my stories, with a new twist. I will also be contributing to a book of shorts that Blaise is helping edit. Thank you again for all your support! Please let me know your thoughts, ideas, and criticisms (yes!). And please write reviews when you can, they are incredibly helpful not only to authors, but to other readers, so they know whether a particular book is for them. Please check out my entire catalog to see what books you may have missed! |
